Talk About Anything>Prophet Mohammed's marriage to Aisha at 9 still blights 9-year-old girls today

Wooo. Looks heavy weight. Just to throw in a quick matter of fact. The title of this thread is wrong.

Just gets better doesn't it?

Sorry if this has already been established.

The same author, on the same website, gives the root cause for this, and funnily enough, it doesn't appear to be Islam:-

...Jimmy Carter did his thing and my people died. In no time at all, the vicious Mullahs gutted the Iranian armed forces and executed many of its most capable officers. Saddam Hussein watched gleefully as the Iranian military disintegrated, and found the opportunity to carry out his Pan Arabism ambition by attacking Iran. Some eight years of barbaric butchery killed and maimed millions on both sides, gutted the vibrant Iranian economy, and visited misery of all sorts upon the Iranian people.

Was the Shah of Iran being spoken about above not Muslim?

Those who do not learn from history are condemned to repeat it.

whypatcopndellisntfun referred to: "...the bloodthirsty Ayatollah Khomeini and his band of rabid Islamists..."

REPLY: A description of people whose prime if not only source document for their bloodthirstiness and rabid Islamism is The Koran. This description includes:

* The majority of people in Iran, Gaza and Palestinian West Bank,
* Many in Iraq, Pakistan, Syria, Saudi Arabia, The Yemen and Afghanistan -
* Plus hundreds of thousands of militant, Al-Qa'eda-supporting Islamist fundamentalists in many other parts of the world.

All militant and rabid because they read, re-read and memorise the bloodthirsty, morbid, and often suicidal rantings of a man who spent his last 10 years combining conquering Arabia with exceptional violence and cruelty, with maintaining his sexual relationship with Aisha, who was 9 when they first consummated their marriage and 18 when he died.

He probably died of poisoning, by the way. He had many enemies when he died. But since his death he has had hundreds of millions of followers

As you well know, I was quoting a source that you had originally used to try and attack the religion of Islam. The article I linked to was from an Iranian journalist whom you had already quoted so that would suggest you respect his opinion.

If you would care to answer any of the points I raised in the original post you replied to, that would be great, otherwise, I'm not going to engage in debate with a person who likes to sidestep historical facts which have been related by a journalist whom you have previously quoted yourself.

I'm sorry if I'm calling into question your narrow view of not only Islam and geo-politics, but your last post made it painfully obvious that when you have not the wherewithal to actually withstand an intelligent rebuttal of your assertions, or the good grace to admit defeat, you resort to a clearly desperate attempt to goad me into some sort of reaction.

All you have to do is prove me wrong that the political interference of a foreign power caused the rise of "virulent Shiite Islamism" within Iran which was already being ruled by a Muslim Shah. This interference in turn had far reaching consequences which are still being played out in Iraq today.

I quote again:

A reminder of the menace of young Muslim men fuelled in their violence by The Koran. See the 3-minute video at the foot of the page for reminders of the insane, violent, suicidal madness that overpowers these young men, as you watch Leeds classroom assistant Mohammed Siddiqui Khan calmly kiss his little daughter 'goodbye' - just before he and his Islamist mates cruelly end the lives of 52 people in London. There are reactions to Mohammed Siddiqui Khan from some of the bereaved:
