Talk About Anything>Why allow the English muppet parties on this forum?
Gregory Lauder-Frost 03:16 PM 21-08-2008
I would be in favour of only permitting Independents to sit in parliament, and to repeal Labour's unconstitutional Lords (non-) Reform, thus restoring the hereditary peerage to *their* House for balance, instead of all the political place-men and women now cluttering up the place. The House of (real) Lords served us exceptionally well for over 1000 years, whereas the history of the Commons leaves much to be desired.

Yes, well done. The statement was made entirely as a consequence of your actions.

This is a free speech forum. Allow them to say what they want.

When in Edinburgh recently I sensed - and it is very difficult to say exactly why and how - that here in Scotland there is a nation in the making. I suppose one should say re-making because Scotland was an independent nation for centuries and it will be a nation again.

England can never be like that. It is too fragmented; too discordant. I can see how people can take real pride in Manchester (but not Liverpool!) or Sussex or Dorset or maybe even Portsmouth but the country has become too sprawling and multicultural ever again to have any sense of shared purpose.

So the English Nationalist stuff is a total waste of time. I'm glad I can call myself a Scot (sort of):-)

That's a good the reason why English nationalism can work. In the face of multiculturalism people are more likely to look for their national identity.

Mike, you do talk billhooks at times.
Are you telling me that the "highlanders" of Scotland (the true Scots) have a love of the sasenachs (the lowlanders of Scotland), what have the twee East coast Scots got in common with the West coast Scots?
Before you answer I have done my time in the RN and have served with the ragamuffin "clans" that make up Scotland and with the Taffs (of which the northern variety are the most ignorant of the UK populace), Paddies by the score.

Are you on drugs?

one look at Glasgow during an old firm meeting tells me you are talking out of your rectum.

Not to mention the southern scots dislike for teuchters and visa versa.

Scotland is an alcoholic drug infested rat hole with bad weather, inhabited by sour faced individuals with a chip on the shoulder. The only time you people unite is in your hatred of all things English.

And English people still want to be in a union with them? Huh???

SOME of the English (the Quislings) want a union with them.
