I'm sure you're right! I like many other Brits' I don't speak a foreign language and often wonder how accurate those translations are, especially when talking politics!

Yeah, I understand that news media has certain time restraints,
and schedules to follow, meaning that the whole translation isn't
always necessary, but I found that Sarkozy's speech was badly
translated, and certain adjectives were not translated properly,
if I were a conspiracy theorist then I could make assumptions,
but the job of the translator is to convey the message being
given, even if it's not verbatim
In this example, it wasn't that at all, the translation gave a totally
different impression of the one he was trying to give.
